Phil Crone to Step Down as Executive Officer in July

Executive Officer Phil Crone has informed the Association’s Board of Directors that he will be stepping down in July after accepting a position as Vice President of Leading Builders of America.

In his new role, he will be heavily involved with the code development process and with numerous legislative and regulatory challenges facing the housing industry across the nation.

Phil started working for the Dallas BA’s government affairs team in 2006 while attending law school at SMU. In 2012, he became the Association’s seventh Executive Officer.

In 2013, NAHB honored him as the nation’s Best New Executive Officer and just a few years later as its Executive Officer of the Year. Professional Builder Magazine recently named Phil to its Forty Under 40 Leadership Awards.

“Working with our dedicated team here at the Dallas BA, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact we have made in building the nation’s strongest housing market,” Phil states in his announcement letter, which outlines some of the Association’s challenges and accomplishments.

The Dallas BA’s Board of Directors will authorize a committee on Tuesday to begin the search for Phil’s successor.
