400 Lots Up for Grabs in Southern Dallas
The City of Dallas on May 9 listed 400 single-family lots for sale in Southern Dallas. At the urging of the Dallas BA, these lots can now be purchased by for-profit entities, with some stipulations.
Another positive development for the program is that lots are clustered and must be purchased and improved that way. The piecemeal approach employed in the past prevented the Land Transfer Program from realizing its full potential.
Resale of tax foreclosed land is $1,000 for the first 7,500 square feet and then $0.13 per square foot of the entire purchase. City-owned land is offered at fair market value, but the developer can demonstrate, though a proforma that a discount is necessary.
