IBS Health Protocols Include Proof of Test/Vaccine and Masking

Attendees registered for next month’s International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Orlando should be aware that the show has instituted mandatory health protocols in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, all registered attendees and exhibitors are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result within five days of attending the show. Acceptable test types include both PCR and “rapid” antigen tests. The negative test must be completed no earlier than Sunday, Feb. 6, in order to be accepted for all three show days. This includes IBS as well as the KBIS kitchen and bath show.

In lieu of testing, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination prior to entry will suffice. A CDC Vaccination Card or a photocopy of it (either printed or on a mobile device) will constitute acceptable proof. More details on the specific vaccines and dosage needed to meet the definition of “fully vaccinated” can be found here.

Regardless of vaccination status, all attendees and exhibitors will also be required to wear masks when indoors at the Orange County Convention Center, on official shuttles and at all other show-related venues. The venue will have masks and sanitization stations on site.

“We simply want to ensure Dallas BA members attending the IBS know what to expect and are not surprised in a way that prevents them from accessing the show,” said Executive Officer Phil Crone. “Many exhibitors will not participate unless these measures are in place so it is a tough situation for NAHB as the show organizer. Regardless, I look forward to seeing our members there and having a great time in Orlando.”

Attendees are encouraged to monitor this website and future announcements from NAHB for any further modifications to the aforementioned protocols. The show runs Feb. 8-10. Online registration is available at BuildersShow.com.
