Home of the Week: Texas Triad Homes
Recently Texas Triad Homes, led by Michael Shelton, had the pleasure of helping a sweet family in Richardson who lives in the “Reservation” Neighborhood. They have a growing family and were faced with a common dilemma, add on or find a bigger house. After counting the cost of a second story addition (including having to move out for a season), they decided to go under contract on a home a few blocks away that needed a personal touch but was significantly larger at 2700 sq. feet. Texas Triad was able to sell the previous home and negotiate a lengthy leaseback that would help minimize the stress of selling, buying, and rehabbing. Texas Triad Homes was also able to take care of all the remodeling in the newly purchased house.
However, before this new house could be a forever home, a large remodel was necessary that put a high priority on function as well as form. For instance, after moving the laundry room to a more suitable location in the home, Texas Triad was then able to create a large, high-end pantry that features under-mount lighting and custom millwork.
They continued the design process to update the house by partnering with Jenn Thomas as she helped the family pick out all the gorgeous finishes in the home. The customer also enjoyed choosing their appliances. The large, navy island that is the focal point of the kitchen included a Bosch pull out microwave drawer and a helpful secondary oven. The adjacent wall boasts a 42-inch Zephyr hood with a 36-inch Blue Star gas stove. A design feature one will not miss when entering this kitchen is the larger-than-life mosaic backsplash. It perfectly ties in all the elements of this space. From the day this family closed on the property to the day they moved in, the project took about 90 days.
Now that the home has been opened up, updated, and all finishing touches applied, this wonderful family is settled in and enjoying living here.
