In late December, President Trump signed NAHB supported tax reform legislation into law. During the process, advocacy effort by NAHB and the entire Federation resulted in victories on the real estate exception to the business interest deduction, second homes, private activity bonds, the capital exclusion and other provisions. The changes became effective for the tax year that began on Jan. 1, 2018.
Dallas Builders Association worked with NAHB to communicate the need for key provisions to key members of the House and the Senator Majority Whip during the process.
